The Attack on YaHuWaH


Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Hilel, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Elohim: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.


The above verses describe the intentions of Hilel, the enemy of YaHuWaH.


Verse 13 describes Hilel's intention to sit upon the mount of the congregation. A better translation of the word 'congregation' (Hebrew 'moed', Strong's 04150) is 'appointed times'.



Hilel's intention is to sit in control of the appointed times established by YaHuWaH.



These appointed times are the Sabbaths (weekly and annual Feasts) and appointed days (such as the yearly Day of Atonement) established by YaHuWaH. These appointed times are the Creator's way of reckoning time, His calendar.


Hilel intends to ascend and sit in control of YaHuWaH 's appointed times.


Today there are several calendars in existence in the world. The Gregorian calendar, a revision of the Julian calendar, was issued by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582. The Hebrew Hillel, Muslim, Chinese, etc., calendars aren't widely used outside their respective cultures.


Note that the Hebrew Hillel calendar now in use by most of Juadaism was established in the fourth century by Hillel II. This calendar is based on astronomical and mathematical calculations done centuries ahead of time, instead of the actual observance of the New Moon from Israel by eyewitneses in real time.


Could the name Hilel in Isaiah 14:12 be a prophetic reference to the Hillel calendar that did away with the need for actual eyewitnesses in Israel for real time verification of YaHuWaH Elohim's appointed days and feasts?


The Hillel calendar was instituted with good intentions in order to preserve date observance unity among the Jews who had been dispersed widely among the nations in an era of slow long distance communications.


However, the lightning speed of modern interconinental communications, and the fact that Israel is again a sovereign nation possesing Jerusalem, renders the need for the Hillel calendar obsolete for the original reasons that it was created.


The Roman Gregorian Calendar


The Gregorian calendar now finds acceptance in every nation, helping to expedite international commerce. This has serious end of the age implications, with a future 'mark' of some sort being required for commercial activity.


Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.


The Gregorian calendar doesn't follow the time keeping method established by YaHuWaH.


As a competitor, or an adversary, to the calendar implemented by YaHuWaH, the Gregorian calendar can be identified as an attempt by the Roman church to sit on the 'mount of the appointed times of Isaiah 14:13.


This also equates the Roman church's actions (setting the days of worship, such as Sunday, Easter, etc.) with Hilel's intentions to ascend and sit in control of the Creator's appointed times (YaHuWaH 's appointed Sabbaths, Feast of Passover, etc.).


So, why would Hilel want to "sit upon the mount of the appointed times" and sit in control of what calendar we follow?


Obedience is the evidence of love. Where there is no obedience to the Father's instructions, there is no indication of our love for the Father. Love is an action, not just a feeling or emotion. Hilel would have it that we honor him with our obedience rather than honor our heavenly Father.


YAHUSHUA said "if ye love Me, keep My commandments". Obedience is the evidence of love.


There is a distinguishing mark given by the Father indicating that we belong to Him:


Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign (Strong's 0226, a distinguishing mark) between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am YaHuWaH that doth sanctify you.


The keeping of YaHuWaH 's appointed days is our recognition of our heavenly Father's authority and is an expression of our love for Him. Don't let Hilel rob you of YaHuWaH 's distinguishing mark. Also be aware that YaHuWaH 's appointed Sabbath of rest is the seventh day, not Sunday the first day of the week.
