Why The Church Teaches That YAHUSHUA The Messiah Is Not The Messiah

The modern church teaches that YAHUSHUA is not the Messiah. There are some in the church who would immediately take issue with this statement. We need to address a critical issue that is affecting everyone of us in the faith. So, lay down your armor plate, sheath your sword, and let us consider together a criticism of the church by the Messiah Himself.

We are not going to split hairs between the Greek derivation of Christ and the Hebrew derivation of Messiah. Let us agree for the sake of this discussion that they are the same title for the Anointed One.

Today, false teaching is rampant in the church. It comes in the form of the following precept: YAHUSHUA the Messiah came with the purpose to do away with the Torah (Law). The teaching of the church is to replace (at a minimum to diminish) Israel's identity as the chosen people, the teaching of the Torah, and to alter the commandments of Sabbath and Biblical holidays. The church has done a pretty good job of doing this.

The spiritual reality is that holding to the Torah is in direct conflict with the teaching of the modern church. It follows that the church's dispute even takes issue with the Messiah when He speaks of the Torah.

Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the Torah, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till Heaven and Earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Torah, till all be fulfilled."

The Messiah has said that the law is still with us and valid. However, this is not enough to convince the church. They dispute the meaning of the word fulfill. However, it is clear from the context and any basic dictionary that the word fulfill is not a synonym for abolish. The church teaches the opposite of Messiah Jesus and forms new meanings for words on this point.

YAHUSHUA emphasized that not one part of the Torah, down to the dots and strokes of letters, would diminish prior to Heaven and Earth passing away. Heaven and Earth are still with us, therefore, every part of the Torah is still valid and with us. All has not been accomplished yet. That is clearly evident with the subject of the second coming. There is more Scripture about the second coming in the 'Old Testament' than in the 'New Testament'. All has not yet been accomplished or fulfilled.

Clearly, the church has failed to understand and reconcile completely the teaching of YaHuWaH and His only begotten Son YAHUSHUA are the focus of our faith. YAHUSHUA was emphatic that His purpose was not to do away with the teaching of Torah. But what does this have to do with denying the Messiahship of YAHUSHUA? Before we answer, let's deal with those brethren who assert the teaching of the Apostle Paul.

It is the Apostle Paul and his letters to the Romans, Colossians, and Galatians that serve as the primary reference material for the church's teaching against Torah. The church contends that Paul took issue with Shabbat (promoting first day worship). They argue that the Galatians were told not to circumcise and not to keep the commandments of the Jews.

Selected verses from Romans and Colossians are used to fend off Sabbath and holidays. With Paul leading the charge, they claim that other writers join in to say that YAHUSHUA said, All foods are clean and Peter had a vision to eat non-kosher foods. Finally, they interpret that the writer of Hebrews flatly says the New Testament has replaced the Old Testament.

There is an obvious conflict here. You can't have YAHUSHUA saying the Torah will never pass away, even though Heaven and Earth may pass away, and then have the Apostle Paul say the Torah was nailed to the cross. Moshe, YAHUSHUA, and the Apostles must all be in agreement or our faith is corrupt and self-destructing in itself. A house divided against itself will not stand.

Now, let's answer the real question and issue of this article. The church really does teach that YAHUSHUA is NOT the Messiah. The issue of whether YAHUSHUA is Messiah is measured by the requirements given by Moshe and the Prophets. The Messiah must fulfill the prophetic requirements given by Moshe. Moshe has given us many prophecies to identify the Messiah. In fact, this was the basis of belief used by the earliest disciples.

Deuteronomy 13:1 "If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for YaHuWaH your Elohim proveth you, to know whether ye love YaHuWaH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 YaHuWaH your Elohim, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve Him, and cleave unto Him.
5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from YaHuWaH your Elohim, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which YaHuWaH thy Elohim commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee."

According to Moshe, YaHuWaH would permit false brethren to enter the fellowship to test us. He said that some of these countrymen would have the power to show signs and wonders. YAHUSHUA came to us as one of our countryman and He had the power to show signs and wonders. Moshe said that the false prophet, teacher, or messiah would attempt to seduce us in a way different from YaHuWaH and Moshe. He said that this false person would give another definition of YaHuWaH, tell us not to keep YaHuWaH's commandments, nor listen to His voice, serve Him, or cling to Him. The basic teaching of Torah is to love, obey, and cling to YaHuWaH.

The Pharisees were unsure that YAHUSHUA was the Messiah, because YAHUSHUA seemed to them to be a sinner, not keeping the Sabbath according to their traditions. The fact is that the Pharisees had made additions to the Torah, in direct violation of the original Torah that was delivered to Moshe by YaHuWaH. YAHUSHUA wouldn't break His Father's Torah by keeping the Pharisees amended Torah. The Pharisees had inserted hundreds of miniscule requirements throughout the Torah in order to enhance their authority over men. The Pharisees had replaced YaHuWaH 's authority with their own authority to feed their personal pride.

Here is YaHuWaH 's command that the Pharisees had broken:
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

YaHuWaH has also given us instruction for the identification of false prophets, teachers, or messiahs.

By Paul teaching that YAHUSHUA did away with the Torah (Law), Paul teaches that YAHUSHUA is a false messiah in accordance with Deut. 13:1-5 above.

Further, by Paul teaching anyone to eat food sacrificed to idols, Paul is showing himself to be a false prophet according to Deut 13:1-5 above and Isaiah 8:20 below.

Isaiah 8:20 To the Torah and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

The standard for sin and perfection is the Torah (Law). YAHUSHUA did not violate the Torah in the slightest, therefore, YAHUSHUA did not give us a different definition of YaHuWaH ; He did not tell us to ignore the Torah, and He did not tell us to ignore the Shabbats and Appointed Feast Days. Had He done so, He would have disqualified Himself as Messiah.

By elevating the teachings of Paul over the teachings of YAHUSHUA the Messiah, the present day church finds itself in blatant opposition with YaHuWaH and the Messiah Himself.

The teaching of YAHUSHUA the Messiah:

Matthew 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And He said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but One, that is, Elohim: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

The teaching of Paul:
Galations 2:16...for by the works of the Torah shall no flesh be justified.

Choose your Savior, YAHUSHUA or Paul.

A search of scripture will reveal that their teachings oppose each other time after time. If YAHUSHUA is the Messiah, then Paul is a false apostle and anti-messiah!

The identity of the true twelfth Apostle chosen after the crucifixion is Matthias.

Are YaHuWaH 's commandments and instructions to be obeyed only by Israel?

No, YaHuWaH 's commandments and instructions (Torah) were obeyed by Abraham centuries before the deliverance of Israel from Egypt and the 'Giving of the Torah to Israel' at Mt. Sinai, reference Genesis 26:5 below.

Genesis 26:1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2 And YaHuWaH appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of Heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the Earth be blessed;
5 Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My Torah.

Abraham and the nations of the Earth were blessed because of Abraham's obedience to YaHuWaH 's commandments .

Today we have a Church that has been deceived by a false 'Apostle Paul' into thinking that it will be a blessing to the world and future generations by ignoring YaHuWaH 's commandments. The truth is that this lawless paganized Christian religious system will be ground to powder by the Living Torah when He arrives. The people themselves may survive, as Rahab the harlot of Jericho did, but the paganized system of Christian religion will be destroyed. The harlot Rahab eventually integrated with the tribes of Israel, but she had to stop practicing her harlotry, lest she be stoned to death.
